Please send your query letter, proposal, and/or manuscript to submissions@neonliterary.com. All three of us check this account regularly.

Here are some important things to know:

1. We represent adult nonfiction as well as literary and upmarket fiction.

2. If you’re querying fiction, please go ahead and send us the full manuscript with your initial query letter. The file should be attached as a .docx or .pdf.

3. If you’re querying nonfiction, please attach a proposal, outline, or whatever you have with your initial query letter.

4. Please specify in the subject line of your email whether you’re querying Kent, Anna, or Eloy. Check out our bios to get a sense of our respective tastes.

5. Once you hit “send,” you’ll receive an automated reply from us reiterating our gratitude and restating the submissions policy you’re reading right now. Receipt of this message indicates that your submission has landed successfully. If you don’t receive it, feel free to reach out to one of us to confirm it’s arrived.

6. We’ll reply if we have the vision and bandwidth to continue the conversation about working together. After four weeks, please consider a lack of such reply to be a pass. 

7. If and only if one of us has invited you to query us directly, please send your query to our personal emails.

8. Thanks in advance for adhering to our submissions policy. It’s not our favorite either, but we’ve put it in place to prioritize work for our existing clients as well as our personal safety.

9. On average, we’re able to sign fewer than half a dozen of the thousands and thousands of submissions we receive annually.

10. We cannot read or accept queries made via the mail, in person, or over the phone unless by prior agreement.
